Chasing the Train

Staring down a photograph
Hours pass, I’m waiting
Water wears a hole in me
If this is sink or swim I won’t let go
Looking for the evidence
A sign to say it’s only in my head

‘Cause I’m still chasing the train

Good to see your face again
Close enough that I can almost
Trace you with my fingertips
The curves alone could break me
When I arrive in memories
I’ll uncross the stars that fill our sky

Staring down a photograph
Hours pass, I’m waiting
Letters from America
Just enough to say I’ll be there soon
