Epilogue

Here again with my oldest friend
The burden is mine to sing
I write these lines over thousands of miles
To show you the world that I see
A way out, I’m lost but I’ve found I can’t carry the world on my own
I’ll take this flight just to see if I might survive the distance

It seems now the only way out is straight through

Can we pretend that our story ends
With a kiss on a warm summer’s day
I miss my feet on cobblestone streets
I’m known to get carried away
Afraid now I’ve lost what I’ve found
Briar Rose I’ve been waiting for you
I’ll chase your light just to see if I might survive the distance

It seems now the only way out is straight through
Heaven and hell, I’d move both just to be there with you

Here again with my oldest friend
And the letter you left with the key
I’ll take this flight just to see if the light survives
When the distance breaks my fall
